Borderland between two worlds

It is a region of north-western Italy that borders on France, Switzerland, Lombardy, Liguria and Emilia Romagna.

The provinces are Turin, Cuneo, Asti, Alessandria, Vercelli, Novara, Biella and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola .

Torino 01

Saluzzo medieval village rich in history with La Castiglia, the Church of San Giovanni and Casa Cavassa.

Aqui Terme with its spas and wellness centers.

Turin with the Egyptian Museum, Mole Antonelliana which houses the National Cinema Museum and the Automobile Museum, the Reggia della Venaria Reale, the Royal Palace and Palazzo Carignano, the Stupinigi Castle and the extraordinary squares of the historic center.

Stresa is a small town on Lake Maggiore with 3 islands: Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola dei Pescatori.

Alba , in the heart of the Langhe with its local wines and the famous truffle.

Bardonecchia is an excellent location for both winter and summer holidays and Arona on Lake Maggiore, with the Statue of San Carlo Borromeo, the Rocca and the lakeside promenade.

TRADITIONAL CUISINE

Vineyard - Piemonte

The most popular dishes are fondue and bagna cauda but also the great mixed fry, braised meat in Barolo, the hare in civet and the wide choice of cheeses: tome, robiole, bruss delle Langhe, gorgonzola di Novara , the sernium of Biella.

Among the olci, the most famous are the Gianduiotti of Turin, the Bicciolani of Vercell i , the Krumiri , the cuneesi with rum and the glazed chestnuts, the nougat, the baci di dama di Alessandria and Asti , the amaretti a Novi .

Piedmont produces some of the finest Italian red wines: Barolo, Barbaresco, Gattinara, Ghemme, Nebbiolo, Freisa, Grignolino, Barbera, Dolcetto.

WHAT TO DO

Culture, sport, relaxation and fun await you in Piedmont : cross-country skiing, ice skating and snowboarding for winter sports enthusiasts; climbing and rafting, trekking routes, cycling routes along the Po , mountain biking, golf, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing on the shores of Lake Maggiore in the summer .

In Val Germanasca it is possible to visit the talc mines, while the Sacri Monti offer religious itineraries in beautiful protected areas.

Not to be missed are the numerous wine roads of Monferrato and Langhe.
