Tuscany between art and good food

TOSCANA

Tuscany, a magical land, offers a lot from multiple points of view, capable of simply enchanting with the beauties of its landscape recognizable by the green expanses and cypresses.

How can we forget the 1996 film directed by Leonardo Pieraccioni “Il Ciclone”: the intense yellow color of the sunflowers and the uncultivated countryside, wonderful places in the province of Arezzo.
Immerse yourself in walks in the cities of art, bike rides in the parks, outings to the sea and tastings of its many typical products.

Enjoy a unique naturalistic, cultural and historical heritage that has fascinated everyone for centuries.

The ancient land of the Etruscans is a destination chosen by many tourists who decide to experience these places, many of whom choose to get married and have the memory of a wedding in full Italian style.

Art & Culture

We begin our journey in Tuscany between culture and art.

Cradle of the Renaissance was, and still is, a source of inspiration for thousands of writers and artists.

Just think of poets such as Dante Alighieri, Giovanni Boccaccio, Francesco Petrarca and world-renowned artists such as Piero della Francesca, Luca Signorelli, Michelangelo.

Known throughout the world for the immense artistic and cultural heritage, eight are the sites included by UNESCO in the World Heritage list: the historic center of Florence and Siena, the villages of San Gimignano and Pienza, the Pizza del Duomo di Pisa and the Val d’Orcia, the 12 Villas and the 2 Medici Gardens complete the list.

Absolutely not least, although they have not been recognized as a heritage by UNESCO, but they are a heritage in all respects, it is worth mentioning the small towns and provincial towns with inimitable character and ancient flavors that still maintain a very strong identity today. such as Cortona, Monteriggioni and Montecatini Terme.

Tuscany offers much more: there are unique museums that house priceless treasures recognized all over the world such as the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia Gallery where you can admire the majestic David by Michelangelo.

It is not just history, the past has greatly helped subsequent generations to exploit the cultural and artistic power of the place, in fact there are also many centers dedicated to contemporary art such as the Pecci Center in Prato, where you can discover the international artistic avant-gardes.

The reasons for planning a trip to Tuscany are not yet fake!

The kitchen

Sore point, right?
It is practically impossible to escape the possibility of taking a food and wine tour.

Thanks to its ancient origins dating back to the Etruscan period, the gastronomic tradition originates.

Located between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Apuan Alps, it offers numerous typical dishes of both sea and land.

On the table it is “obligatory” to accompany the dishes with exceptional wines, of which the region is extremely rich.
All the Tuscan provinces have a traditional course:

  • Panzanella, a summer dish considered poor. Its origins date back to the 14th century: Tuscan stale bread soaked in water and vinegar, cucumbers, red onion, basil, tomato, oil, salt and pepper.
  • Florentine steak, you need a very hot grill and the right cut, which would be with the classic bone that forms a sort of “t” with a thickness of over 4 centimeters. The cooking takes about 5 minutes per side, so as to serve a product that is not overcooked, but not even rare. On the capture, however, a great debate could open that in the end only a true Florentine can judge.
  •  Cecina, few ingredients for a flavor product: chickpea flour, water, oil, salt and pepper. It is baked in the oven, good and very fine, served in many ways and accompanies countless dishes.
  •  Ribollita, one of the most famous dishes of the Tuscany region, absolutely represents the peasant tradition. It was born as a poor dish, cooked on Friday and heated for all the following days with the addition of a drizzle of oil. It consists of typical seasonal products that heat up during the winter: cannellini beans, cabbage, chard, potatoes, carrots, cabbage and various spices. It is called Ribollita because it is “ribollito” the day after preparation.

Good food is also well-being, you can’t do without it. Now let’s turn our attention to his majesty the wine.

Red or white? Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano, Sangiovese as reds and the historic white wine Vernaccia di San Gimignano.

The list does not end here because Tuscany boasts countless and prestigious grape varieties that have international resonance.

The Tuscan style also differs in fashion and its trends.

Great internationally renowned designers have their roots in Tuscany such as Roberto Cavalli, Gucci and Prada, which have production centers, company outlets and shops of great aesthetic and product impact.

The leathers and Florentine leather are of top quality, the looms and craftsmanship are the only alabaster products from Volterra.

The nature

In addition to the historical and architectural beauties and good food and gastronomy in general,

the last step towards the “booking” of your trip stops on nature.

The boundless landscapes, the warm colors, the contrasts of green, the boundless fields of sunflowers between the wonderful colonial houses and the cypresses. Yes, the cypresses that immediately refer to Tuscany!

The renowned Crete Senesi with a thousand shades, olive groves and vineyards that decorate the rolling hills offer breathtaking views that remain etched in the mind.

Tuscany is everything you are looking for for all seasons: from the sea with long sandy beaches to natural parks.

The Argentario – the highest promontory on the Tuscan coast – is protected by a WWF oasis for its naturalistic and wildlife richness.

Moving west, there are the islands of Giannutri and Giglio, included in the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, surrounded by a crystalline sea and rich seabed.

A brief mention is also necessary due to the presence of numerous thermal and wellness sources: Montecatini, Saturnia, Montepulciano, Bagno Vignoni and Monsummano,
that thanks to the thermal waters offer relaxation and regenerate body and mind.

Well, now I think it is really difficult to escape and not visit Tuscany because it offers so much and can really please everyone! Organizing a tour would be the perfect solution.

You arrive in Tuscany and you will see that it will be difficult to return from there.
